My first short film about a budding corn kernel and its life in the big world around it. Developed as a capstone project for my Animation 1 class.

"One day, a small kernel of corn wakes up from its cob and realizes there's more to life beyond what it knows. Perils await it as it tries to seek refuge amidst a hostile farmland environment."
This was my first time taking a project of this magnitude to completion. The entire project had a 5 week timeline with storyboards, character development, animatics, and backgrounds done in that time. The entire project was done by me including compositing and final edits.

Lessons Learned
2D Animation is SLOW! I now understand why there are so many different types of jobs in animation studios, because each piece, be it color, compositing, line work, or backgrounds, each took a considerable amount of time and patience to finish on time.

Software Used:
Through the storyboard process, I realized a lot of my shots either had bland composition or too much going on. Through the animatic, I was able to go through and reiterate my initial vision and resolve those issues without making major changes.
